Deja Vu

In 2008, Don drove our black Toyota 4Runner through Mexico to Guatemala.

Right after it arrived at our house, April 2008
Don LOVED this truck from the moment that he laid his eyes on it - we bought it over e-bay from California, sight unseen.  But God ...

We lived in Guatemala for 7 months in 2008 to 2009 and it changed us forever.  We flew back leaving the truck behind to be used as the ministry needed until we could return which we did for 3 to 4 weeks every year.  We were waiting for the Lord to release us to live there on a full-time basis which He did in 2015.

Last November, Don and Samuel were in a terrible accident with this 4Runner.  It rolled down a mountain, crushing it, but thankfully, not the occupants.

How the truck landed on the road below from where they were driving.

We are so thankful to the Lord that Don and Samuel walked away from that accident.  It was really nothing short of miraculous. Only God ...

This 4Runner had been our 'utility' vehicle. Don would take it to clinic in the mountains when the ministry truck was out of commission.  We would drive it to widows once a month.  We used it to run to market.  It was super tired after 10 years of living in Guatemala so we didn't take it out of our valley anymore but it was still such a part of our transportation.  We really desired to replace it but weren't sure how.

The 4Runner after being towed back to the ministry compound.

Then God ...

Last February, our sending church in Omaha took an offering to replace the 4Runner.  Honestly, we had really low expectations because of all of the things starting to happen in the world.  The Lord provided above and beyond our weak expectations!!  Thank you, Lifegate Church!!!

We used the offering to buy a 2010 black 4Runner!

Thank you, Adventure Motors!  We LOVED working with you.  We know that the Lord led us directly to you and this 4Runner.  Praise God ...

All ready to head to Mexico!

Don LOVED it the moment he laid his eyes on it!  (deja vu)

We are driving it through Mexico to Guatemala.  (deja vu)

It will be packed to beyond full.  (deja vu)

Join us for the journey!  We will blog as we travel.  We are trusting the Lord for His path home to Canillá!  We would really appreciate your prayers!
