A Day In 'El Campo'

We recently hosted a men's team from our church, Lifegate Omaha. The guys worked hard on projects at the hospital and the compound.

The last time the guys were here, they had met Pastor Armondo. On this trip, I wanted them to spend some time with him and to see where he serves. He invited us along on a house-call.

After driving for an hour or so to get to the village, it was a hike to get down to the house.

The home was very typical. The family made sure all of the men had a place to sit.

I brought along my medical bag, but the time was more about encourgement and prayer.

On our way back to Canilla, we stopped at Armondo's church which is under construction. As we approached, he led us around to their kitchen, an adobe structure where they are meeting until the building is completed.  We were surprised to be greeted by about two dozen of his parishioners.  It was a sweet time of testimonies, encouragement, and prayer.

It was very encouraging, humbling, and challenging to see the work that this rural pastor is doing as he strives to take the gospel to this area.
