Birthday and Easter

Only a few days of April left, although it is definitely not feeling like spring! April has flown by for us. We are still plugging away at school and starting to get some work done outside.

Also in April, Caleb turned 14! My mom and dad came down from SD for the big day. We also had my sister and her family out for lunch. Caleb had requested steaks and chocolate-covered cherry cake, his favorite!

Caleb really wants to put a headlight on his dirtbike. He had purchased the kit required for the wiring but not the actual headlight. Don found one for him and then decided it might have a dual purpose!

A mask?

Anyway, they now have a project to complete.

Here is my mom and dad and all the grandchildren.

The very next weekend we went up to SD for Easter. We tend to not do anything with Easter eggs or bunnies, but before we left, Samuel told me that if you have a good grandma, you get presents for Easter.

And apparently they have a good grandma! Here they are waiting their turn to peek into their Easter "bags"!! Any excuse to give them gifts!

Next to the movies, silly string may have been the favorite "surprise!" Samuel didn't know what it was. Apparently we haven't taught him about the really fun things of life!! They have decided that they could use some more.

We had a great Easter that included an awesome church service. We celebrated the best gift of all in the resurrection of our Savior.

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Matthew 28:5-6

Zoo Trip

We decided to head to the zoo this afternoon after we got all our work done! The IMAX is now included in our zoo membership so we decided to go check it out. We haven't been there since Caleb was very little. The show was on Alaska. What a beautiful place! I am so amazed at the Lord's creativity.

He who forms the mountains,
who creates the wind,
and who reveals his thoughts to mankind,
who turns dawn to darkness,
and treads on the heights of the earth—
the LORD God Almighty is his name.
Amos 4:13

We all enjoyed it and then decided to take a quick spin around the dessert dome. I forgot my camera so I took a couple pictures with my phone. I found this cool little mosaic option.

I did take a couple normal pictures as well!

Anyway, it was a fun, little diversion for the afternoon.
