Team and Widows

Our first team of the year arrived on January 3rd.  We had a great group from Abilene Christian University join us for a week.  They were all interested in medicine and spent much of their time observing clinics.
They also joined us at Widows.

Caleb was their 'chofer' for most of the week which included the trip to Chiminisijuan.

For some reason, only about half of our ladies showed up to the project this month.  We were wondering if the others forgot the date??

Don gave the team a tour of the clinic building and told the story behind the land.  The group then joined us for the devotion and to hand out the food (rice, beans and oatmeal) to the ladies.

One of the student's mom joined the team.  She is originally from Honduras and is licensed as a doctor in Central America.  Rosie was a huge help in clinics and I asked her to share with the widows.  She did a great job of talking about the love of the Lord!

It was very sunny - everyone was trying to find some shade!!

After the devotion, we prayed in Quiche (Mayan language of the widows), Spanish and English.  One of my favorite parts every month!!

The team left us on the 9th and took Caleb with them!  He returned to the States to spend a week in Omaha before he heads to his internship at IHOP in Kansas City.

The team was great and we really enjoyed having them here!  Praying that they all have a great spring semester.  We are also missing Caleb but so excited for what the Lord has for him over the next 5 to 6 months!

We are getting ready to welcome our next team in a little over a week!  So excited to have a group from Lifegate, our home church in Omaha, join us for a while!
